Sometimes you don’t have to travel far to discover places you truly enjoy. Stillwater Minnesota, is only 50 minutes from my home, yet it offers so much beauty and charm.
The historic lift bridge is one of Stillwater’s most recognizable landmarks. Surrounded by the beautiful St. Croix River and trees in the background, it creates a picturesque scene that captures the charm of this small town.
I chose to paint this scene in summer because it’s my favorite time of year. I added extra flowers in the foreground to bring more color, warmth and life to the composition.
